COMPARISON

Live translation for guided tours: four systems compared.

If you guide groups that don’t all speak your language, there are four ways to offer live translation today without a second guide. Two differences matter most: what visitors listen on (their own phone or a receiver you hand out) and how you pay. This comparison gathers what each maker publishes on its website or has told the press, with the date we checked it.

Example: a 2-hour tour in 3 languages

If you run tours in many languages at once and only a few a month, Nubart’s model (per stream, not per language) may suit you. If you run several tours a month in 1 to 3 languages, ViuTour is usually cheaper.

When not to choose ViuTour

If visitors can’t or won’t use their phones (school groups without phones), or the tour goes through areas without coverage, a receiver-based system such as VOX Aura or BMS is the better option.

Frequently asked questions

Do visitors need to install an app?

With ViuTour and Nubart, no: they join with a QR code in the browser. With VOX Aura and BMS they listen on a receiver.

Which system is cheapest?

It depends on how many tours you run and in how many languages. Only ViuTour and Nubart publish prices: a 2-hour tour in 3 languages fits in ViuTour’s €49 monthly plan, while with Nubart it costs €78 plus the cards.

Which one works in Catalan?

ViuTour and Nubart include Catalan. VOX Aura and BMS don’t mention it in what they publish.
